I am the world’s biggest procrastinator, call it getting to comfortable, scared of change or whatever but in the in it all boils down to, I am a procrastinator. Life is way too short to just wait until tomorrow. I say this with ease as I type it on the screen but actually doing it is not so easy, we work, have kids and a million other things that seem to come before putting ourselves first. I get it, I have kids myself and would never put anything ahead of them but what I am saying is, there is more to life than just working to stay alive and broke.
I wish I had that perfect remedy to fix all of the above but hopefully at some point I can spark that thought that pushes you in the right direction. Do you need to run out and quit your job and search for that thing that’s going to make you never have to work a corporate job again? No, but you should start taking steps in your life that give you that happiness that you deserve. Whether that’s working for yourself, taking risk that you never thought you would or just making small changes in your life, you have to start somewhere. Work life balance is a myth when it comes to a corporate job, can you blame them? In the end, not really. But the thing that you do have control over is your own life and happiness. Start small and work your way up and I promise it will get easier. You deserve to be happy and be able to spend time with your family, now I know that it won’t happen overnight but it will help you get there.
Missed chances are one that I constantly hear from people, stepping out of your comfort zone and taking that risk that has the possibility to hurt you or people you love or crumble your feelings. Walking up to that guy/girl and telling them your feelings in fear of rejection, apply for that job that you keep telling yourself that you know you can do but also say that they would never pick me for it. Staying a toxic relationship because you don’t want to be alone or think it’s better to stay with each-other for the kids, and being afraid to leave a secure job and start your own thing because failure is in the back of your mind, there are so many things that run through your mind that will keep you from doing something that might have any amazing impact on your life and yes if can also blow up on you but I promise it will make you stronger and you will learn from it. One of my favorite things to see is when I open up IG of FB and see a story about a friend that took a chance on themselves and it worked out for the best. I don’t have all the answers but I am definitely here to help you get there if need be. I made a promise to myself that I would work completely for myself within a year and trust me I am nervous as hell but I know I can get there and will be more happy for it. I will leave you with one of my favorite people ever.
